I woke up this morning to find some notes about my chat last night that had me rolling on the floor. They dont seem to make much sense anymore, but whatever.....
Sixpack of blow-up dolls, amputee, gun shot.....yikes!

Patty....
Did you know that the typical McDonalds beef patty has a longer shelf life than the average car driven in North America?

Political Strife....
Some are caught in the mix, and have no choice. Sucks.
Then there are some that are fortunate, and can help. I am one of these.
I named her Zambi, after the Zambezi River in Africa, which is the premier big whitewater in conjunction with the Grand Canyon. Shes also really black.
When I brought her home, I found out quickly that she was probably abused, malnutritioned, and covered in ticks, and absolutely filthy. Heres where the issue was. Give her Frontline or a bath, bc she cant have both. I decided that the Frontline was more important for her, and in two days was finding dead ticks all over the place. Disgusting.
You may be thinking that 2+ dogs is way insane for person like me. Well youre right. Zambi is officially my dog and the other two (fatty included) are then back together, which in all reality is really good for them. As well The Two dont like swimming, and since Zambi's paws are bigger than her head I think she gonna enjoy the river life.
Meanwhile, back at the ranch, I may have sold both the Van and the 4Runner. Van is getting checked out today and the 4Runner tomorrow by an Archeology Company. wOOt!!

4fiftypointonetwo....
ok, heres what we have so far:
Before anything happens, clean clean clean the bike...not clean enough but I do it anyways.
I take apart the various parts of the head, valve cover, valve body, cylinder, and the piston apparatus.
So all the mega duty bolts are out and I have sweat on the brow. Gaskets are popping off and all seems good. Too good:
The inside of the cylinder is almost brand new looking. It still has the original cross-hatching used for feeding oil up between the rings and the cylinder, almost no wear at all. Were talking 100+ hours in mere relativity. This job is apparently due, but not. I took the part to the local machinist and he said the specs are tight, same as original. Meaning the parts havent worn at all? 3.738 to 3.739 and its still the former. Weird. I guess good synthetic oil does work!
I did notice some blueing on the rod balancers so Im gonna post that im the forums tonight. Might be normal?
The piston is clean enough and has zero wear as well. I guess buying Yamaha was a wise choice, so Ive heard.
I also found out that I can drop a 5 speed WR transmission in my YZ which is great news!
Let the good times roll!

4fifty....
Through much online discussion with people from all over, I have diagnosed the 450's dirty oil issue, and it seems the diagnosis and accumilated hours seem it best fit to do a little tear down. the goal is to put some new piston rings in and check the status of the piston and cylinder and valves while Im in there. Heres a peek at whats supposedly gonna happen...
